Movin' Right Along!

Well, we got some of the initial paperwork signed, and it looks like the actual final documents will be signed either this afternoon (!) or tomorrow morning. Then on Friday, we sit back and let everyone do their thing to transfer title, etc. The house will officially be ours on Friday, but we agreed to wait until Monday to take possession so the sellers can move this weekend. They were planning on moving *last* weekend, but with everything up in the air due to the appraisal, they weren't able to.

Liam is excited - he is planning on painting his room RED. Hmph. So, Phil and I went to Home Depot and picked out a few reds that we could live with and presented them to him. He picked out a fairly nice one. Hm. Let's see - check out the color in the kitchen on the first slide:

RED DELICIOUS COLOR

My plan is to paint the playroom as well, since it's currently a lovely shade of pink. Light, girly pink. So, I need to find a color for that too. I don't think we're going to worry about our room for a while though...

Headed tonight for an ice-cream social for the school - Liam gets to meet his new teacher tonight! From what I've read, she sounds incredible...any time a school tries to raise extra funds in order to hire back a specific teacher after initial layoff rounds, that's a good sign! We are very lucky that she wanted to be at SW Charter rather than going back to her old school.

Not too much else here. We have a busy weekend planned, since it's our last Saturday with Mamiko. Then (I think) Phil is going riding with Curt on Sunday, and in between we're trying to get stuff organized and planned.

A big thank-you to all of you have have winged prayers, crossed fingers, wished hard and whatever else. It's hard for us to believe that after 25 years for Phil in the CG, 10 years married, 2 children and who-knows-how-many transfers together and apart, we are about to move into our own home. In fact, I just paid our last rent payment yesterday. What a rush! I am fairly confident that had we not had so many friends and family members on our behalf, this deal may have fallen through. So from the bottom of our hearts, we want to say:UPDATE: The appointment has been made to sign the paperwork tomorrow (Thursday) at 9AM. Yeah! Phil says he won't get excited 'till all the work is done...hmph. Liam is thrilled and I'm starting to get pretty excited too, though it will really hit when we can actually unlock the OUR door with OUR keys and roam around OUR house on Monday.
