Now, on we go! We were all outside yesterday evening - Liam was riding his bike with Helen, and Ceana was chasing them up and down the sidewalk. Phil and I were sitting on the grass, chatting and keeping an eye on the kids. The next thing we know, Liam is riding by us and hollering back at Helen. You may be asking what it was he was hollering? Let me share the conversation as Phil and I heard it:
Liam: "You're a hot...chicken nugget!"
Helen: "What does that mean?"
Phil and I, exchanging looks: "Yes - what DOES that mean? This should be interesting...."
Liam: "It means...you look TASTY!!!"
Segue into Phil and I dissolving into laughter on the lawn.
From there, the conversation between Helen and Liam degenerated into whether or not he has a crush on her, while Phil and I relived the original conversation in every form we could. At one point, Liam wasn't paying attention to what he was doing, and he rode up (hard) the curb (which ended up popping his inner-tube). Helen told him he needed to pay attention to what he was doing...at which point I hollered at Liam that he needs to start listening to his "chicken nugget".
I decided to post this on the blog for a few reasons:
One, for posterity. Really, that's a conversation that should never be lost.
Two, because I knew the grandparents in particular would find it hysterical - and who are we to deny them the humor?
And three, because when Liam is older and actually DOES begin to date, we can remind ourselves to ask his new girlie-friend if he told her that she was a TASTY CHICKEN NUGGET!!
Which, for the record, Phil says is the lamest pick-up line he's ever heard...
